1 Killed in Apple Valley Car Accident on 15 Freeway
APPLE VALLEY, CA (July 26, 2019) – A person died in a car accident on 15 Freeway involving a pickup truck and a semi on July 25.
The incident occurred at 2:10 pm on the 15 Freeway near Stoddard Wells Road. The CHP revealed that a pickup truck pulling a trailer crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer.
Officials also noted that the disabled tractor-trailer parked along the right-hand shoulder. The semi carried 70,000 lbs. of vegetables.
The crash left the entire cab of the pickup truck below the rear of the semi, leaving only the bed and trailer showing.
Firefighters came to the scene and extricated one person from the truck. However, CHP officer Mike Mumford revealed that one person died at the scene.
CHP Officers closed the roadway while the first responders worked at the scene. The helicopter transported the passenger to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
By of 3:30 p.m., both lanes are still closed.
