1 Dead and 4 Injured in Long Beach Auto Accident on Pacific Coast Highway near Mugu Rock
LONG BEACH, CA (March 8, 2023) – Early Tuesday, a deadly 2-vehicle crash on Pacific Coast Highway near Mugu Rock injured four people.

Meanwhile, the California Highway Patrol reported that a man from Oxnard drove a 2010 BMW sedan southbound on the highway, north of a landmark rock.
Then, his vehicle crossed into the northbound lanes and collided with a 2004 GMC sport utility vehicle. Afterward, the BMW came to a stop on the northbound side of the highway. Meanwhile, the GMC came to rest on the southbound side.
CHP officers stated that the BMW’s front end collided with the GMC’s front end. As a result, the sedan came to a stop on the northbound side of the highway.
Moreover, the cause of the accident and the speed at which the BMW was traveling are unknown.
Emergency services transported the BMW driver to the Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura. However, medical personnel pronounced him dead. Meanwhile, officials have not yet released his identity pending notification of his next of kin.
The GMC’s driver, a 25-year-old man from Oxnard, sustained minor injuries. Then, authorities arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
His three passengers, also 25-year-old men from Oxnard, sustained minor to major injuries. Responders transported them to the Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks.

CHP Officer Jorge Alfaro stated that none of the injuries were life-threatening.
CHP Officer Alfaro said that one passenger suffered a broken pelvis, arm, and back, as well as a lacerated liver. Meanwhile, another passenger broke his left arm. Also, the third complained of pain in his right side.
The accident marks the third fatal crash on the highway in the past four months.
