DUI Driver Albert Fimbrez Arrested in Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Fresno
FRESNO, CA (November 5, 2019) – A male teen was killed following a pedestrian DUI crash Tuesday night in Fresno, authorities said.
The crash happened just after 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of Valentine Avenue and West Shields Avenue.
According to the CHP, a 16-year-old Dayvon Fletcher McCoy and his 14-year-old friend were walking near the intersection, when a Ford pickup truck hit them.
Arriving paramedics rushed McCoy to Community Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The second boy was treated at the scene and was released.
Authorities arrested the Ford driver, 54-year-old Albert Isaac Fimbrez, on suspicion of driving under the influence and murder. He has a prior DUI conviction and was driving without a license.
An investigation into this fatal incident is ongoing.
