Driver and Passenger Hurt in Late Afternoon Crash on 22 Freeway at Main Street
ORANGE, CA (April 15, 2019) – Two people were hospitalized following a two-car crash late Monday afternoon in Orange.
The crash happened just after 5:00 p.m. on westbound 22 Freeway at Main Street off-ramp.
CHP officials said a white Ford Fiesta and a gray sedan collided, blocking the first and HOV lanes of the freeway. One of the cars overturned from the impact, while the other was pushed to the right shoulder.
Two occupants in the Ford Fiesta were hurt from the crash. The driver, a 45-year-old Dawn Dyer, complained of pain to the chest, abdomen, neck and back; while her passenger, a 19-year-old Sophia Defazio, complained of chest pain.
Both patients were transported to UCI Medical Center for proper treatment.
There were no official reports stating what caused the crash or how it exactly transpired. Authorities are looking further into the accident to determine the factors involved and liability.
