Injuries Reported in McKinleyville Accident on McKinleyville Avenue and Hiller Road
MCKINLEYVILLE, CA (June 8, 2022) – Monday afternoon, Davis sustained injuries in a bicycle crash on McKinleyville Avenue and Hiller Road.
The incident occurred at around 4:15 p.m. as Davis rode his bicycle north on McKinleyville Avenue, approaching Hiller Road.
Meanwhile, Davis yielded at the stop sign at the intersection. Then, Davis noticed a silver, newer, “boxy” van with dark tinted windows approaching the intersection from westbound Hiller Road. Afterward, the vehicle failed to yield to a stop and went through the intersection.
As a result, the vehicle crashed with Davis, knocking him to the ground. Moreover, reports confirmed that Davis suffered injuries to his shoulder and leg.
Afterward, the driver escaped the crash scene without rendering aid. Davis described the driver as a dark-complected woman in her mid to late 30s, with long black hair, wearing a floral pattern dress.
Meanwhile, Davis went to his residence and called the CHP to report the incident. Eventually, responders took him via ambulance for treatment of his injuries.
Humboldt CHP urged the public’s help to locate the vehicle involved in this crash, and identify the driver.
