SUV Hits Motorcycle on 80 Freeway in Davis Injuring the Rider
DAVIS, CA (December 10, 2018) – A motorcyclist was injured following a traffic collision with a car Monday afternoon in Davis, CHP officials said.
The collision happened around 3:55 p.m. on eastbound 80 Freeway at Old Davis Road off-ramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a white SUV hit the motorcycle, blocking the fast lane of the freeway. Another car may have been involved but no further details were provided.
Responding fire crews located the rider with injuries from the crash. It was not indicated if the patient was taken to a hospital or treated at the scene.
The motorcycle was towed from the wreckage.
Three freeway lanes were blocked until around 4:23 p.m. while the rescue and clearing operations were being conducted.
There were no official reports stating what caused the crash or how it exactly transpired. Authorities are looking further into the accident.
