David Terrey & Benjamin Glasser Involved in Startling School Bus Crash on Onaga Trail [Yucca Valley, CA]

Injuries Reported in Yucca Valley Auto Accident on Onaga Trail and Valley Vista Avenue

YUCCA VALLEY, CA (August 24, 2023) – Wednesday afternoon, a startling school bus crash on Onaga Trail involved David Terrey & Benjamin Glasser.

The incident happened at about 12:45 p.m. on Onaga Trail and Valley Vista Avenue.

According to reports, a school bus with 28 students from La Contenta Middle School traveled west on Onaga Trail. However, 53-year-old Terrey from Yucca Valley driving a 2012 Nissan Murano south on Valley Vista Avenue approached Onaga Trail.

Then, he failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection and the Nissan struck the right side of the school bus.

Meanwhile, 40-year-old Benjamin Glasser drove the bus. During the crash, the bus went in a northwesterly direction, onto private property, and through a wooden fence.

Then, the bus hit a parked 2014 Chevrolet Cruze that was pushed in a northerly direction into a house.

As a result, the two drivers and a 13-year-old boy from Yucca Valley all sustained minor injuries.

Responders took Terrey to Hi-Desert Medical Center. Meanwhile, the student was also taken to the Hi-Desert Medical Center via ambulance out of an abundance of caution.

Meanwhile, the authorities do not believe that alcohol and/or drugs played a role in the crash.

Furthermore, representatives from the MUSD and officers from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department came to the scene.

The California Highway Patrol handles the crash investigation.
