Eduardo Carrillo, David Stephens Hurt in Orland Car Accident
ORLAND, CA (September 25, 2019) – Two people sustained injuries in a car accident on 5 Freeway on September 19
At about 4:45 a.m., 29-year-old David Stephens of Redding drove his Ford Explorer south on 5 Freeway, just south of Highway 32.
Meanwhile, 29-year-old Eduardo Carrillo of Orland traveled north in a Ford Escape on 5 Freeway. Stephens allegedly let his vehicle drove off the southbound lanes and hit oleanders in the center divided. The impact sent David Stephens’ vehicle to roll over and land on its roof in the northbound lanes, directly in the path of Carrillo. This action resulted in a crash.
Responders transported Stephens to Enloe Medical Center with major injuries. Meanwhile, Carrillo only sustained minor injuries.
The two drivers both wore seatbelts at the time of the crash. Authorities also ruled out drugs or alcohol as a factor in the crash.
