Police Searches for Suspect in Richmond Fatal Bicycle Crash

Richmond, CA (July 7, 2023) – On July 1, David Sexton, a 60-year-old bicyclist from San Francisco sustained fatal injuries following a Richmond Parkway hit-and-run collision.

The authorities responded to the crash scene at about 10 p.m. at Goodrick Avenue and located Sexton dead.

Richmond Police spokesperson Sgt. Donald Patchin said the vehicle that struck Sexton continued driving after the collision.

He said they later located the suspect vehicle abandoned in San Pablo with damage matching the suspect vehicle as described by witnesses.

“We know that speed is a factor in this,” Patchin said. “It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs were a factor.”

Meanwhile, the authorities did not give any details about the vehicle or identify the suspect publicly as they are still investigating the Richmond fatal bicycle crash.
