4-Vehicle Wreck on Highway 50 Kills One Victim and Seriously Injures Another
WEST SACRAMENTO, CA (February 18, 2019) – A 54-year-old man identified as David Rosenheimer, was killed Monday afternoon in an accident on Highway 50.
The crash happened just after 1:00 p.m., on westbound Highway 50 near Harbor Boulevard. The incident began when a 2019 Ford, 2016 GMC and a 2010 Ford were stopped in heavy traffic. Meanwhile, a 2014 Tesla approached the stopped cars, and was unable to stop in time. The Tesla slammed into the rear of the 2019 Ford, causing a chain-reaction.
AS a result, Rosenheimer sustained major injuries, and was taken to UC Davis Medical Center. Medics performed life-saving efforts; however, he was later pronounced dead.
The GMC driver, identified as a 49-year-old Martinez woman, was taken to Kaiser Vacaville with minor injuries. Her current condition is unknown at this time. Furthermore, CHP officials said the other two drivers were unharmed.
The crash remains under investigation, however alcohol and drugs have not been ruled out as possible contributing factors. No further details have been disclosed to the public at this time.
During this delicate time, we would like to extend our deepest condolences to the loved ones and friends of David Rosenheimer.
