1 Dead in Los Banos Auto Accident on Highway 33 and Shaw Avenue

LOS BANOS, CA (December 30, 2023) – Thursday, 39-year-old David Rivera died in a big rig crash on Highway 33 and Shaw Avenue.

According to reports, the incident involving a big rig and an SUV happened at about 2:30 p.m. on a section of Highway 33 south of Firebaugh.

When the CHP responded, they determined that Rivera, the driver of the SUV, led the vehicle to move to the opposite lane into the path of the big rig. Reports said that the big rig driver turned in an attempt to avoid the crash but the SUV crashed with the side of the big rig before driving onto the dirt shoulder at the side of the highway.

As a result, Rivera was declared dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the big rig driver suffered no injuries.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
