46-year-old David Pinkerton Dies After Hit-And-Run Crash on 40th Street in Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ (August 18, 2024) – Early Saturday morning, 46-year-old David Pinkerton died in a hit-and-run crash on 40th Street.

Phoenix police are actively searching for the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash.

Authorities received a call around 1:45 a.m. to respond to an area on 40th Street, south of Thomas Road. 

Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered 46-year-old David Pinkerton seriously injured in the roadway. 

He was immediately transported to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

 Investigators later determined that the vehicle responsible for the crash had fled the scene, but no description of the vehicle has been released yet. 

The investigation is ongoing, and police urge anyone with information to contact Phoenix police or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS, or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish speakers.
