37-Year-Old San Jose Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Lundy Avenue and Chen Street Intersection
SAN JOSE, CA (January 29, 2018) – A 37-year-old motorcyclist, David Mojarro, died on Monday after colliding with a car on the intersection of Lundy Avenue and Chen Street.
Authorities received a report about a crash at Lundy Ave around 5:24 PM. San Jose police Sgt. Enqrique Garcia confirmed that a white Toyota Camry was driving north on Lundy and attempted to make a left on Chen.
Heavy oncoming traffic stopped for the Camry, but the turn made the car veer into the path of a Suzuki GSX-RR that was in the right southbound lane. Garcia stated that the motorcyclist braked hard before colliding with the car.
Emergency responders transported Mojarro to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead not long after.
The driver of the Camry remained at the scene of the crash and cooperated with police. Officials do not believe that alcohol was involved in the crash, but the car smelled heavily of marijuana.Authorities are still investigating the incident. Anyone with more information is urged to call Det. Brian McMahon at (408) 277-4654.
