Fatality Reported in Lexington Square Collision
Amarillo, TX (July 11, 2024) – David Martinez, 30, of Canyon, was killed in a Soncy Road pedestrian accident Friday night.
The fatal collision happened around 9:35 p.m. at Lexington Square.
Martinez was crossing the road in an unlit area when he was hit by a police officer who was responding to a collision on SW 45th Ave & S Soncy Road.
Investigators said the APD officer did not see the pedestrian until it was too late.
Immediately, the rescuers rushed Martinez to Northwest Texas Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
This fatal traffic accident is under investigation.
