54-Year-Old Fremont Man Hospitalized after Big Rig Accident near County Road 34, Jiyang Wang Involved
GLENN, CA (October 16, 2018) – On Tuesday, a man was injured in a collision with a big rig on Highway 24. The injured driver was identified as 54-year-old David Manges of Fremont.
According to officials with the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place near County Road 34. 51-year-old Jiyang Wang of Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, was driving a three-axle big rig south when he slowed down to make a left turn into the driveway on Highway 45.
Manges was driving his BMW behind the truck and was unable to slow down on time he was starting to turn left, rear-ending the big rig. He suffered critical injuries and was transported to the Enloe Medical Center, but there is no update on his current medical condition. It was found that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. No other injuries were reported in the crash.
Alcohol and drugs are not considered to be involved in the incident, and no additional information has been released to the public.
