1 Person Hurt in Butler County Auto Accident on Highway 158 near Poplar Bluff

BUTLER COUNTY, MO (August 21, 2024) – Monday night, David Kirk sustained injuries in a crippling vehicle crash on Highway 158 near Poplar Bluff.

The incident happened at around 7:10 p.m. on Highway 158, approximately 8 miles south of Poplar Bluff.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a westbound pickup truck failed to yield the right of way to an eastbound pickup truck, veered off the right side of the road, and struck a bridge before crashing in a ditch.

Moreover, responders airlifted the driver of the eastbound pickup, identified as 55-year-old Kirk, to a hospital with serious injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Missouri State Highway Patrol continued investigating the crash.
