Phoenix, AZ (February 29, 2024) – On Thursday afternoon, David Juarez, a 19-year-old male, died in a fiery crash on 67th Avenue and Van Buren Street.

Reportedly, a fiery crash in west Phoenix on Thursday afternoon resulted in one person’s death and another’s injury.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered two vehicles involved in the crash, with one engulfed in flames.

According to police, a vehicle collided with several parked cars. David Juarez, a 19-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene, while a second individual was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. 

In one of the cars, police discovered an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. 

They detained a passenger from the vehicle, who was uncooperative. Concurrently, emergency calls reported a shooting involving the crashed vehicle. 

At a nearby home, police uncovered shooting evidence but did not find any victims or suspects. 

The events leading up to the crash and the timing of the shooting remain unclear.
