Valle Vista, CA (October 24, 2023) On Saturday evening, 48-year-old David Hartlerode of Valle Vista died after a pedestrian crash on Florida Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the tragic auto-pedestrian collision happened around 6:50 p.m. at the intersection with New Chicago Avenue.

Reports say that an eastbound Honda sedan driven by a 56-year-old Hemet man, struck Hartlerode crossing on a designated crosswalk.

Medics pronounced Hartlerode dead at the scene, while the driver escaped injuries.
