Billy Travis and David Hamilton Dead in Bakersfield Accident on Interstate 5 at State Route 43
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 17, 2021) – Wednesday morning, two men died in a rollover crash on Interstate 5 near State Route 43.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at around 11:00 a.m. Moreover, it occurred on southbound Interstate 5 near State Route 43.
Reports revealed that a vehicle blew a tire and rolled over before it crashed into a center divider.
The force of the crash ejected two people from the vehicle. One of the people ejected from the vehicle was hit by an oncoming northbound vehicle.
Furthermore, responders pronounced two victims dead at the scene. Also, paramedics transported another person to a hospital with major injuries.
Moreover, officials confirmed that no one inside the vehicle wore seatbelts at the time of the incident.
All lanes of I-5 at SR 43 have long since reopened.
The Kern County Coroner’s Office have identified the two decedents as David Victor James Hamilton, 51, of Modesto, and Ripon man Billy Shane Travis, 44.
