David Garcia Jr Killed in South Downey Road Hit-and-Run Crash [Los Angeles, CA]

Los Angeles, CA (October 27, 2023) On Tuesday, 36-year-old David Garcia Jr died 12 hours after a tragic hit-and-run crash on South Downey Road.

According to the CHP, the fatal pedestrian crash happened on a sidewalk near Whittier Boulevard, where a silver 2003 to 2004 Honda Pilot hit and injured Garcia while he was taking out the trash.

Reports say that the Honda was traveling at high speed on South Downey Road, then struck Garcia, afterward, the suspect driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid to Garcia.

Medics rushed Garcia, where he battled the fatal injuries and ultimately succumbed to it and was declared dead 12 hours later.

CHP is searching for the suspect driver and vehicle who remains at large.

Authorities are investigating the fatal pedestrian crash.
