Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted after Fatal Pedestrian Collision near Bowling Drive
SACRAMENTO, CA (August 30, 2018) – A man was killed early Thursday morning, following a hit-and-run crash near Bowling Drive. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 29-year-old Sacramento resident David Edward Lee Jackson.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place shortly before 1:30 AM. The victim was crossing Florin Road when he was struck by a vehicle in the far left lane.
The impact propelled Jackson into the center median, causing him to slam into a tree. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District officials that responded to the accident.
Meanwhile, the vehicle involved did not stop to render aid and fled the scene. A witness described the suspect vehicle as an older green Chevrolet Silverado with minor front-end damage.
