1 Dead in Fairfax Car Accident on Creek Road
FAIRFAX, CA (February 13, 2020) – A 74-year-old electric scooter rider died after an electric scooter and car accident on Creek Road.
The Marin County coroner’s office identified the rider as 74-year-old David Dunne.
Fairfax police later revealed that Dunne rode his scooter on Creek Road near Dominga Avenue at 8:30 a.m. February 7th. He then collided with a car.
Due to the incident still being under investigation, the authorities have yet to disclose the driver’s identity.
“We have not yet determined who is at fault,” Fairfax police chief Christopher Morin said. Officials have also ruled out alcohol as a factor in the collision.
Dunne was “alert and conscious” after the accident. However, Morin added that David Dunne seemed to be in a great deal of pain, specifically in his arm. The rider succumbed to death eight hours later at Marin Health Medical Center in Greenbrae. The detectives are still trying to identify whether the cause of death was from the crash, or a pre-existing medical condition.
