Fatal Morongo Valley Pedestrian Accident on Highway 62
MORONGO VALLEY, CA (November 14, 2019) – A 64-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 62 on November 9.
Authorities identified David Castillo as the pedestrian who died after a vehicle hit him at about 6:50 p.m. on Highway 62 at Lanning Lane.
63-year-old Kalliope Bolanis of Joshua Tree drove a 2001 Toyota Avalon east on Highway 62. After that, she hit Castillo who walked across the highway.
Castillo went through the windshield and died at the scene. Castillo was returning home from Country Market when he was hit by the car.
Bolanis suffered serious injuries. As a result, paramedics transported Bolanis to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.
The crash remains under investigation.
