Elderly Man Fatally Struck by Pickup Truck at Little Jon Road and Bow Drive
COPPEROPOLIS, CA (March 10, 2019) – An elderly man was killed after being struck by a pickup truck Sunday evening in Copperopolis.
The fatal crash happened around 8:08 p.m. on Little Jon Road, just North of Bow Drive and South of Copper Cove Village.
According to the CHP, the man was walking next to the edge of Little John Road when he was hit by a 1973 Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by a 34-year-old Joseph M. Rabeneau of Copperopolis.
The victim, identified as a 75-year-old David R. Best of Copperopolis, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rabeneau immediately returned to the scene and fully cooperated with the investigation.
Drugs and/or alcohol were not being ruled out as factors in the crash.
