David Beltran Fatally Struck on Beaumont Avenue
Beaumont, CA (December 18, 2021) – On Thursday, 71-year-old David Beltran of Cherry Valley died in a pedestrian accident on Beaumont Avenue.
The fatal accident happened at about 6:20 a.m. in the 10400 block area.
Investigators said Beltran was walking when he started to cross from west to east on the two-lane corridor
“We obtained surveillance video from a business that showed the victim walking outside of the crosswalk,” Officer Matt Napier said. “He walked into the path of the pickup.”
Moreover, the 1999 GMC Sierra driver, a 68-year-old Cherry Valley man was northbound at roughly 25-30 mph when he struck Beltran.
The unidentified driver immediately stopped and called 911 after the accident.
Immediately, rescuers took Beltran to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley. Unfortunately, he succumbed to injuries less than three hours later.
Meanwhile, the authorities are still investigating this crash. They said there is no indication that the motorist was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
