David Alvarez Arrested after Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 178 [Bakersfield, CA]

1 Dead in Auto Accident on Highway 178 and Alfred Harrell Highway

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 30, 2022) – Saturday night, authorities arrested David Alvarez after a fatal hit-and-run crash on Highway 178.
 
The incident occurred at about 8:41 p.m. on Highway 178 and Alfred Harrell Highway.
 
According to reports, a woman driving a vehicle headed south on Alfred Harrel Highway. Then, she crashed with David Alvarez driving a westbound pickup truck on Highway 178.
 
As a result, the female driver sustained major injuries and died at the scene. Meanwhile, Alvarez ran from the crash scene.
 
At this time, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the deceased due to pending family notification.
 
Meanwhile, Bakersfield police later found and arrested David Alvarez on Sunday. He’s currently facing charges on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run.
