29-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck by Two Vehicles near Seattle Children’s Hospital
SEATTLE, WA (April 30, 2018) – A fatal pedestrian collision on 40th Avenue Northeast claimed the life of a man, on Monday. He was later identified as 29-year-old David Allen by the authorities.
According to reports, the collision happened at the intersection of 40th Avenue Northeast and Sand Point Way Northeast, near Seattle Children’s Hospital. Allen was crossing in an unmarked crosswalk when two vehicles struck him. Initially, the two drivers fled the scene and left the victim on the street, but one of them came forward later to turn themselves in.
Authorities are now seeking the second driver who is currently at large.
Allen’s family expressed their gratefulness to the witnesses who made sure that the victim wouldn’t be hit by oncoming traffic. They created a barricade between Allen and the vehicles to prevent any more vehicles from hitting him.
A GoFundMe page was started by Jessica Lewellen, Allen’s sister, to help with her brother’s funeral expenses.
