1 Dead and 3 Arrested after Red Bluff Accident on Walnut Street
RED BLUFF, CA (August 11, 2020) – On Saturday night, David Alan Lee Jr. died, while Brian Son and two others were arrested in crash on Walnut Street.
At about 6:43 p.m. on August 8th, an officer with the Red Bluff Police Department administered a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle near the 1000 block of Walnut Street.
However, 40-year-old driver Brian Son of Red Bluff didn’t stop which caused officers to start a chase. While the chase transpires, 38-year-old passenger David Alan Lee Jr. of Red Bluff went out of Brian Son’s vehicle. Afterward, Son ran over Lee and left the passenger with fatal injuries.
The chase ended on the 300 block of Paskenta Road when Son went out of the car and headed into a garage where he lived. The officers followed him and the Red Bluff Police and deputies from the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office detained him.
Furthermore, the authorities found several stolen firearms in the garage. They also found 38-year-old Jeremy Swain of Red Bluff and 42-year-old Pedro Avila of Gerber.
Authorities also arrested Swain and Avila for obstructing a Peace Officer. The authorities booked Brian Son, Jeremy Swain, and Pedro Avila into the Tehama County Jail.
Furthermore, investigators from the Tehama County Major Crimes Unit, officers from Tehama County Probation, and CHP all came and helped in the investigation.
The crash remains under active investigation. The officers also revealed that they will file additional charges with the Tehama County District Attorney’s Office.
May fond memories of David Alan Lee Jr. bring those bereaved comfort during this hard time. Our hearts and prayers go out to the family.
