David Alan Brown Killed, 5 Hospitalized in Fiery Vehicle Crash on Highway 85

 
Saratoga, CA (August 13, 2020) – On Wednesday, David Alan Brown, 75, died while five others were injured in a fiery two-vehicle crash on Highway 85 and Saratoga Avenue.
 
Luisa Rapport, a spokesperson for the Santa Clara County Fire Department said the fatal crash happened at about 11:20 a.m.
 
Sgt. Michael Low of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office said authorities found a white sedan engulfed in fire and stuck on an embankment. While a gray pickup truck sustained major front-end damage.
 
Moreover, rescuers took two occupants of each vehicle to hospitals. Three of them suffered life-threatening injuries.
 
A sedan occupant, a man in his 70s, died a short time later.
 
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office released the deceased’s identity on Thursday as 75-year-old David Alan Brown of Saratoga.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics also treated two witnesses at the scene for minor injuries.
 
Furthermore, authorities closed Saratoga Avenue in both directions for investigation. They also closed the off-ramps from Highway 85 to Saratoga Avenue.
 
Rapport said firefighters remained at the scene to help the sheriff’s office with its investigation into the crash.
