Daveiontay Norwood Arrested in Fatal DUI Crash on 1000 Hartnell Avenue [Redding, CA]

1 Person Dead in Redding Auto Accident on 1000 Hartnell Avenue

REDDING, CA (November 27, 2023) – On Saturday, authorities arrested Daveiontay Norwood after a fatal DUI crash on 1000 Hartnell Avenue.

According to the Redding Police, an eastbound 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup traveling at a high rate of speed collided with a 1999 Chevrolet that was pulling out of a driveway.

Moreover, responders rushed the driver of the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado pickup to Mercy Medical Center where the patient was later pronounced dead.

Furthermore, officers arrested the driver of the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, 31-year-old Norwood, for driving with a blood alcohol level greater than 0.08% causing bodily injury, possession of a controlled substance, and driving with a suspended license for DUI and probation violation.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the RPD continued to investigate the crash.
