1 Dead in Killeen Multi-Vehicle Accident on Rosewood Drive and E Central Texas Expressway

KILEEN, TX (June 6, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, a tragic multi-vehicle wreck on Rosewood Drive killed Daurick Romel Scott Jr.

The incident occurred at around 4:18 p.m. on Rosewood Drive and E Central Texas Expressway.

When the authorities arrived, they found the driver and a passenger of a vehicle in critical condition. Thus, responders transported them to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the preliminary investigation confirmed that a gray Dodge Challenger traveled eastbound on E. Central Texas Expressway at a high rate of speed. Then, they approached the intersection of Rosewood Drive on the inside turn-left-only lane.

As the vehicle entered the intersection, the driver disregarded the turn marks at the intersection and hit a red Dodge Durango trying to turn left at the intersection.

The impact sent the Challenger crashing into a traffic light pole and the Durango drove across the center median, hitting a semi-truck trailer trying to turn onto E. Central Texas Expressway from the turn-around.

Officers confirmed that both occupants of the Challenger didn’t wear seatbelts and sustained severe injuries.

Moreover, responders took the driver of the Challenger to Seton Medical Center Harker Heights in critical condition. Then, responders airlifted the female passenger to Baylor Scott and White also in critical condition.

Meanwhile, Justice of Peace Gregory Johnson pronounced the driver Romel Scott Jr. dead at 4:44 p.m.
