Darren Malvin Struck and Killed by Car on Laverne Avenue [Mill Valley, CA]

52-Year-Old Darren Malvin Killed in Mill Valley Accident

 
MILL VALLEY, CA (January 16, 2019) – On Wednesday night, 52-year-old Darren Malvin of Mill Valley was killed by a car in a pedestrian accident on Laverne Avenue. The incident occurred around 8:30 PM near North Ferndale Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, Malvin was struck by a van driven by 76-year-old Kristin Cann. Officers stated Cann was evading a falling tree when the victim ran in front of the van while he was looking for cover.
 
First responders provided first aid, transported Malvin to Marin General Hospital where he succumbed his injuries. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
 
Authorities stated the driver of the van remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Drugs and alcohol were not considered factors in the crash following preliminary investigation. There has been no further information released regarding the circumstance leading up to the incident at this time.
