Darren Kritzberger Struck and Killed by SUV in Beaumont
BEAUMONT, CA (July 22, 2019) – A 50-year-old pedestrian died after an SUV struck him in a parking lot in Beaumont Friday morning.
The Beaumont police said a car hit 50-year-old Darren Kritzberger of Beaumont in the area of Beaumont Avenue and Fifth Street at about 10:25 a.m. At that time, he was in the yard at Stallion Auto Repair where he worked. The driver of a Subaru SUV careened off westbound 10 Freeway at the Beaumont Avenue off-ramp before hitting Kritzberger.
Paramedics pronounced Kritzberger dead at the scene. A motor home and a pickup truck were also damaged in the crash.
The Subaru driver sustained minor injuries and treated at San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital in Banning.
The crash remains under investigation.
