Dao Cheng Zhu Fatally Struck on Telegraph Avenue [Oakland, CA]

Oakland, CA (April 24, 2022) – On Friday night, Dao Cheng Zhu, 91, of Oakland, lost his life in a pedestrian accident on Telegraph Avenue.

It was about 7 a.m. when the fatal incident took place in the 2000 block area.

Reports say the pedestrian was crossing the street when he was hit by a driver turning west onto 20th Street from Telegraph Avenue’s northbound lane.

Immediately, the paramedics took the victim to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at 11 p.m. the same day.

Moreover, the involved driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The authorities do not believe alcohol and drugs were factors in the accident.
