Motorcyclist Danny Adam Vasquez Sr Killed in US 84 Collision [Lubbock, TX]

Lubbock, TX (September 23, 2024) –  49-year-old Danny Adam Vasquez Sr of Slaton was killed in a motorcycle crash on US 84 Friday night.

It was around 9:30 p.m. when the fatal crash happened on CR 7200.

DPS officers said Danny Adam Vasquez Sr was eastbound on a 2016 Yamaha motorcycle.

His motorcycle crashed into a Chevrolet pickup truck that was in the center crossover lane. Officers said the rear of the truck was hanging over into the left travel lane of the freeway.

Vasquez was killed at the crash scene while 60-year-old Dane Lay Powell, the pickup truck driver, was not hurt.

Troopers booked Dane Lay Powell into the Lubbock County Detention Center with an intoxication manslaughter charge.
