37-Year-Old Redding Woman Struck and Injured by SUV near Beverly Drive
REDDING, CA (August 17, 2018) – A woman was in critical condition following a pedestrian accident that took place on 10th Street, late Friday morning. The victim was later identified as 37-year-old Danielle Davis of Redding.
According to reports, Davis was walking across the street in a marked crosswalk when she was struck by an SUV, at approximately 10:46 AM. Witnesses said that a truck in the westbound middle lane stopped for her, but the SUV, driven by 37-year-old Trista Humiston, did not stop and hit her.
Davis suffered severe injuries and was taken to the Mercy Medical Center. She was listed in critical condition, but there is no update at this time.
Redding police temporarily shut down westbound traffic on Cypress at Rosemary Avenue, as officers investigated the scene. Neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be a factor in the collision, police said. No additional information has been disclosed to the public.
When behind the wheel, it is important to pay attention to your surroundings and look out for fellow motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists on the road.
