Officers Arrest Karen Baker in Clark County Fatal Crash
Clark County, WA (Aug. 10, 2023) – At 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday, 37-year-old Danielle Abrahams was killed in a vehicle crash on Fourth Plain Boulevard.
Officers said 52-year-old Karen Baker was speeding down Fourth Plain Boulevard in a Hyundai Sonata. As a result, she struck a median curb near the intersection with Fruit Valley Road where she crashed through a back fence and into the home at 2607 Unander Ave.
Firefighters and the department’s heavy/technical rescue team responded to the incident so they could extricate the victim.
A family pet also died at the scene. Officers said that two other people who lived in the house were displaced,
Investigating officers said Abrahams died from mechanical asphyxia after she was pinned under the vehicle.
As of Monday morning, she remained in a hospital and would be booked into the Clark County Jail once she’s released. Karen Baker is now facing charges of vehicular homicide and driving under the influence against Baker.
Moreover, Abrahams’ family created a GoFundMe page to help with legal costs and to help the victim’s husband and brother find somewhere to live.
“Let us remember Danielle not only for the light she brought into our lives but also for the strength and resilience that her family displays in the face of this unfathomable tragedy,” the fundraiser states. “Together, we can turn this pain into purpose and create a legacy of love that will endure.”
