Daniel Santos Velasquez Dies in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Calloway Drive
Bakersfield, CA (September 3, 2020) – On Wednesday, Daniel Santos Velasquez was struck and killed in a pedestrian accident the 2700 block of Calloway Drive.
Police said the 40-year-old victim was killed by a motorist while walking outside a crosswalk in northwest Bakersfield.
Sgt. Mike Gerrity said a vehicle moving south on Calloway Drive near Rosedale Highway struck the man at around 9:40 PM.
Moreover, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Also, Gerrity said alcohol, drugs, or speed were factors in the crash.
