Men Killed in Solo Rollover Crash near Shepherd Avenue Identified

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (September 20, 2019) – Authorities identified 21-year-old Daniel Ruiz and 20-year-old Ismael Cortez as the victims killed in a crash on Highway 168, Friday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 6:35 PM. A vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it veered off the road. The driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll over multiple times.
 
Emergency responders rushed both Daniel and Ismael to Community Regional Medical Center with major injuries. Unfortunately, they both succumbed to their injuries.

Investigators ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the fatal crash. In addition, the CHP says that the victims were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the incident. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
