42-Year-Old Correctional Officer Struck and Killed in Crash on Yourman Road
HEBER, CA (April 1, 2018) – Around 6:30 PM on Sunday evening, a 42-year-old man was struck and killed in a motorcycle collision at the intersection of Heber and Yourman Roads.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 6:30 PM, when Daniel Rodriguez of Calexico was riding a 2015 Honda 300r motorcycle westbound on Heber Road approaching the intersection. At the same time, 67-year-old Dora Morales of El Centro was driving a 2003 Buick Century and approaching the intersection from the east on Heber.
Morales made a left turn north onto Yourman, coming into the path of the Hoda motorcycle, and crashing head-on with Rodriguez. Daniel Rodriguez sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene due to blunt force trauma. Morales also sustained minor injuries to her face and chest.
The incident remains under investigation by authorities. No other information has been disclosed at this time.
