Daniel Ramirez of Fortuna Killed in Horrific 2-Vehicle Crash on Singley Road [Loleta, CA]

Loleta, CA (March 7, 2024) On Tuesday evening, 16-year-old Daniel Ramirez of Fortuna died in a fiery crash on Singley Road, that injured 65-year-old Guadalupe Ramirez of Fortuna.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the 2-vehicle collision happened around 7:51 p.m. at the intersection of Singley Road and Singley Hill Road.

Reports say that a Freightliner, driven by 20-year-old Logan Morais of McKinleyville, collided with a 2001 Nissan Frontier. The collision caused the Nissan to burst into flames.

Officials say that 2 people were inside the Nissan as it was burning, bystanders were able to remove the elder Ramirez, while the teen was trapped inside the burning vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say that Guadalupe sustained major injuries and was rushed to St.Joseph Hospital in Eureka. Meanwhile, Morais escaped injuries.

CHP is investigating the fiery 2-vehicle crash and has not released further information at this time.
