3 People Hurt in Loon Lake Car Accident
LOON LAKE, WA (March 22, 2019) – Three people sustained injuries in a DUI car collision on March 18, north of Loon Lake.
WSP said that 35-year-old Tom D. Evje of Kettle Falls was traveling south on Highway 395, about three miles north of Loon Lake, when his 2002 Dodge Neon went across the center line and hit a northbound car. The accident occurred around 9:00 p.m.
Trooper Jeff Sevigney said that authorities suspected Evje of being intoxicated of alcohol or drugs. However, police are still investigating the details of the accident.
57-year-old Daniel J. Phillips from Curlew was the driver of the 1997 Honda CRV that was hit. Both Phillips and his passenger, 44-year-old Trina C. Dulaney, suffered injuries. Fortunately, the 14-year-old female passenger did not suffer any injuries in the crash.
The authorities listed both drivers, Evje and Phillips in satisfactory condition Tuesday morning at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center.
