50-Year-Old Gustine Man Killed, Eric Mays Involved in Washington Road Crash

 
Keyes, CA (April 13, 2021) – On Monday, 30-year-old Eric Mays of Turlock was involved in a fatal rear-end crash on Washington Road, wherein 50-year-old Daniel Hernandez died.
 
The fatal Keyes ATV crash happened at around 1:47 p.m. north of Taylor Road.
 
Apparently, the Gustine man was driving a Kubota ATV when it collided with a Dodge pickup driven by Mays.
 
The man was thrown from the ATV and landed in the roadway.
 
Unfortunately, the authorities pronounced Mr. Hernandez dead at the scene.
 
On the other hand, Mays incurred minor injuries. He told investigators he was traveling about 35 mph when the accident happened.
 
Meanwhile, officers said drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the accident.
 
“We are trying to determine if the (tractor) was established in the roadway or came out from an orchard,” an officer said.
