Jeffery Tibbs Involved in Tragic 2-Vehicle Collision on State Route 17
Othello, WA (February 16, 2024) On Thursday morning, 14-year-old Daniel Gama Perez, 44-year-old Brini Moran Flores, and 44-year-old Manuela Franco Huerta all of Warden, died in a tragic crash on SR 17.
According to the WSP, the tragic crash happened at about 7 a.m. on southbound State Route 17 near Cunningham Road.
Reports say that Huerta was driving a southbound Toyota Corolla when she lost control of her vehicle veered onto the opposite lane and was struck by a semi-truck driven by 53-year-old Jeffery Tibbs of Hermiston, Oregon.
Authorities pronounced Huerta and her passengers Perez and Flores dead at the scene. Tibbs escaped injuries.
Officials say that Huerta may have been going too fast for condition.
WSP is investigating the fatal 2-vehicle crash and has not released further information at this time.
