Daniel Arias Cortez Dies in Horrific Crash on East Olive Avenue [Lompoc, CA]

Lompoc, CA (March 13, 2024) On February 10, 23-year-old Daniel Arias Cortez died after a tragic hit-and-run crash on East Olive Avenue.

According to the Lompoc Police Department, the fatal crash happened at Beattie Park on the 1100 block of East Olive Avenue.

Reports say that a vehicle struck Cortez, and then fled the scene after the tragic collision.

Medics rushed Cortez to the hospital where he ultimately died due to the injuries from the crash.

Authorities arrested 23-year-old Gezel Viveros on Monday, in connection to the fatal hit-and-run crash.

Police say that Viveros is charged with hit-and-run resulting in death or injury.
