Car Crashes into Front Yard in Harris County Auto Accident on Killough Drive near West Montgomery Road
HARRIS COUNTY, TX (December 22, 2023) – Thursday morning, Daniel Alexander Rodrigue-Olivares was arrested after a crash on Killough Drive.
The incident happened at about 3:00 a.m. when an alleged drunken driver crashed into a family’s front yard and broke into the home to get help in the crash. However, the passenger in the crash, a woman in her 20s, succumbed to injuries at the scene.
Officers said that the incident happened at the home on Killough Drive near West Montgomery Road.
Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Rodriguez-Olivares traveled at a high speed in a 2016 BMW 340i on Killough Drive. Then, he reportedly lost control of the car. As a result, he collided with a wooden barricade, went into the air, and crossed a bayou.
Meanwhile, Rodriguez hit his vehicle into a second wooden barricade and continued driving. Eventually, the car went into a retention ditch on the other side of the roadway, hit a fence, overturned, and hit three more fences, leaving damage to a nearby home, HCSO added.
The driver was believed to be intoxicated at the time of the crash. He smashed glass to break into the home where the crash happened while his passenger remained in the car with grave injuries.
Reports confirmed that the driver banged on the door, yelling for help. He managed to get inside after throwing something through a back window.
Meanwhile, two adults inside the home called 911.
When the EMS came, they located the driver passed out on a bed in the family’s home.
Moreover, the passenger in the crash, described as a young woman in her 20s, was declared dead at the scene.
Rodriguez-Olivares was transported to a nearby hospital and was charged with intoxication and manslaughter.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
