Collision in Calexico Sends Two to Hospital
Calexico, CA (September 14, 2022) – Before 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Daniel Aldrete, 36, of Calexico, and his passenger, Janet Coronado, also from Calexico, sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 7.
According to the responding officers, a westbound car driven by Aldrete was on Highway 98.
At the same time, a northbound tractor-trailer driven by Joel De Jesus, 36, of Hermosillo, Mexico, was on State Route 7.
Officers say the two vehicles crashed at the intersection.
Daniel Aldrete and his passenger, Janet Coronado, were trapped in the car under the tractor-trailer.
Immediately, the Imperial CountyFire personnel extricated them and rushed them to El Centro Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
In the meantime, officers are investigating the cause of the traffic collision in Calexico.
