1 Injured in Spokane Pedestrian Accident
SPOKANE, WA (November 6, 2019) – A child sustained injuries in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Post Street on November 4.
Reports revealed that a Damon Ashe drove a maroon Buick sedan that struck a child who crossed the street on North Post Street and West Alice Avenue.
Upon the authorities’ arrival, the kid is motionless while lying in the street. 36-year-old Ashe then escaped the scene northbound on Post Street.
Upon the responders from the police and fire departments’ arrival, they gave the child treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. Responders took the injured to the hospital.
Meanwhile, some witnesses stated that the vehicle is an early 2000s Buick Regal with tinted windows, black wheels, no front license plate and seems to be registered in Washington.
In addition, the incident also damaged the passenger side mirror and front passenger-side bumper.
On November 5, authorities arrested Damon Ashe in the 2700 block of North Pines Road. After that, police booked him into the Spokane County Jail for vehicular assault and felony hit-and-run. According to reports, Damon Ashe was a convicted felon without a valid driver’s license.
The police also recovered the Buick hidden outside of the city.
