Ferrari Driver Flees after Crashing into Power Pole in Rancho Santa Fe
RANCHO SANTA FE, CA (March 12, 2019) – A driver fled after a power pole collision in Rancho Santa Fe on Thursday, March 7.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Jim Bettencourt, just before 10:20 p.m., they received reports involving a 2012 Ferrari in a crash near the intersection of Avenida de Acacias and La Granada.
The accident caused the 40-foot power pole to fall to the ground. It left 84 San Diego Gas & Electric customers in the area in the dark, SDG&E spokesman Wes Jones stated.
As of 8:30 a.m. Friday, they restored the electricity to all but three customers, who were expected to be back on line by noon, according to Jones.
Officers shut down the northbound and southbound lanes of Avenida De Acacias from La Granada to Via De La Cumbre until around 3 p.m. while crews worked to replace the power pole.
Always be careful in driving to not get involved in any road accident. If trapped in an emergency, do not flee the scene after the incident. Wait for the arrival of the authorities and the paramedics.
