1 Dead in Fountain Valley Bicycle Accident on Brookhurst Street and Garfield Avenue
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA (July 6, 2022) – Tuesday morning, 73-year-old Dac Them Kieu died in a bicycle crash on Brookhurst Street.
The incident happened at about 6:54 a.m. on Brookhurst Street and Garfield Avenue. According to reports, a silver Ford F-350 hit the bicyclist. When the authorities arrived, they found 73-year-old Dac Them Kieu of Fountain Valley down at the scene.
Thus, they immediately transported him to an area hospital where he later died of his injuries.
Meanwhile, the 65-year-old driver from Huntington Beach stayed at the scene and has been cooperative with investigators.
According to initial reports, the Ford driver made a left turn from Garfield onto northbound Brookhurst. Then, he collided with the bicyclist traveling eastbound along the north curb line crosswalk of Garfield.
Moreover, the authorities ruled out alcohol and drugs as a factor in the crash.
